The greatest realization that came out of quarantine for me is that I can get pretty creative when I’m bored. Since there is not much to do during these times, I felt like Valentine’s day was going to be pretty boring for me and my little one. So of course I had to plan a cute shoot for a cute holiday! If you are a photographer or just simply have the passion for creative photography, now is the time to plan a lot of home shoots! Not only do you have fun planning and shooting but it gives you something to look forward to during these weird times. I had so much fun during this photoshoot and my daughter loved it as well.
Total cost for all these props: $13
Supplies From Dollar Tree
If you don’t have a Dollar Tree where you live, you must be from either Hawaii or Alaska and for that I just want to say yikes I’m sorry! Anyway, I found some great stuff to create my dreamy Valentine’s background. I know I am not the only one noticing how great Dollar Tree’s products are getting. Here are some things I got! I also just want to point out that this is not a sponsored post but how cool would that be? Sponsored by Dollar Tree? A girl can only dream.
I found these cute paper plates that look exactly like mylar balloons in red and pink! One pack came with 12 plates. A steal in my opinion. I simply put tape on the back and rearranged them in a pattern.
Here are some cute extra props I got because I initially did not have a set plan on how I wanted my set up to look like but just thought I would show you more cute decor dollar tree has.
Now here is the final set up. Dollar Tree balloons are underrated. I got a white sheet as a background and a furry rug that you can find at any home decor store like Home Goods or Target. Lastly, a beautiful bouquet provided by my beau.
Here are the results! I wanted to get a dreamy effect on my daughter’s pictures. I used plastic wrap around my camera lens at first but did not like how it looked too blurry. Then I put a thin layer of chapstick on the lens and then I tried to fix it to my liking. Not sure if I’m satisfied on those results but it still came out cute. I love how the photos came out and will probably try to do more home shoots in the future!
